Secondary Towns and Rural Community Based Water Supply & Sanitation Project - Sri Lanka ADB Loan Nos. 1993 SRI (SF), 2275 SRI, 2276 SRI (SF)Revision of Project Cost Estimate

- The Government has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the above project which consists of 03 components, namely, Urban Water Supply and Sanitation, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation and Institutional Strengthening. It intents to cater to a population of 969,000 in Hambantota, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa and Muttur. The project also includes sanitation facilities to a population of 171,500 in the same District. Cabinet approval was granted to increase the project cost estimate from US $175.2 million to US $263.26 million and to enhance the Government of Sri Lanka allocation from US $55.2 million to US $114.16 million.
