Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2024-04-25 (Subject to Confirmation at the next Meeting)

Amendment of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Act, No.34 of 2002 and the Civil Aviation Act, No.14 of 2010

- It has been found essential to amend the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Act, No.34 of 2002 and the Civil Aviation Act, No.14 of 2010 so as to suit to the Civil Aviation Policy of the country, industry requirements and the emerging global trends in the Civil Aviation, since the applications, boundaries and limitations of the Aviation Industry are rapidly growing day by day. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft Bills to amend the said Acts, based on the recommendations of the Committee appointed to obtain recommendations in that regard, was approved by the Cabinet.
