Expansion of the Mindfulness Training Programme being implemented for school children islandwide

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted on 2022‑12‑12 to implement the "Programme for the Introduction of Mindfulness for School Children" with a view to creating calmness by avoiding the frequent complexity and stress developing in the minds of school children. Accordingly, this programme is being implemented successfully in each school in the country over a period of one year. The proposal made by the Minister of Education to commemorate the day following the Vesak Day as the National Mindfulness Day annually, to implement the programme called "Towards a Mindfulness Country from the Vesak Week' annually in future coinciding with the Vesak Week and to hold the 'International Mindfulness Conference' at the beginning of the Month of May in each year from the year 2024, as a step forward of the said Programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
