Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Sri Lanka and the Republic of Chad

- At present, Sri Lanka has established diplomatic relations with 46 countries in the African continent, and the Republic of Chad also has expressed its consent to establish diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka. The Republic of Chad, as a multilateral partner, has extended its support to Sri Lanka in the United Nations and other multilateral forums. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Chad, was approved by the Cabinet.
