National Policy on Drinking Water and National Policy on Water Safety

- It has been identified the necessity of a more comprehensive and updated approach to address the evolving trends and challenges in the drinking water supply services sector. Accordingly, having obtained the consultation of the experts in the relevant sector and stakeholders as well as comments of the general public, the 'National Policy on Drinking Water' and the 'National Policy on Water Safety' have been formulated. It is expected thereby to achieve the objectives of ensuring the access to safe and quality drinking water for all citizens, promote sustainable water use and foster economic growth and prosperity of the water sector. The proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to integrate and implement the 'National Policy on Drinking Water' and the 'National Policy on Water Safety' with other related policies as appropriate, was approved by the Cabinet.
