Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2024-04-01 (Subject to Confirmation at the next Meeting)

Awarding the contract for the Operating Lease of four (04) Wide-body Aircraft for SriLankan Airlines Limited

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at the Cabinet meeting held on 2024‑03‑18 to award the contracts for the procurement of two (02) aircraft under operating lease out of the requirement of five (05) wide-body aircraft for SriLankan Airlines Limited. Based on the recommendations of the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation to obtain four (04) wide-body aircraft including an additional aircraft, was approved by the Cabinet.

* Contracts relating to obtain 02 aircraft to a lease rent of USD 360,000 from ORIX Aviation for a period of 06 years.

* Contracts relating to obtain 02 aircraft to a lease rent of USD 365,000 from Aergo Capital Limited for a period of 08 years.
