Submission of Orders published in the Gazettes for approval of Parliament

- Approval of Parliament is required to obtain within the period specified in the Special Commodity Levy Act, No.48 of 2007 for the Orders published in the Gazette in order to enforce the amendments of the Special Commodity Levy which is imposed in the importation of certain selected commodities under the said Act. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to submit the Orders published through the following Gazette Extraordinary Notifications under the Special Commodity Levy Act, No.48 of 2007, to Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet:

* the Gazette Extraordinary Notification No.2360/52 dated 2023‑11‑30;

* the Gazette Extraordinary Notification No.2365/04 dated 2024‑01‑02;

* the Gazette Extraordinary Notification No.2365/84 dated 2024‑01‑07;

* the Gazette Extraordinary Notification No.2372/06 dated 2024‑02‑19; and

* the Gazette Extraordinary Notification No.2373/42 dated 2024‑03‑01.
