Vesting the Ehelepola Walawwa with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

- The Secretary to the President had been informed to discuss with all the relevant parties and submit a Report with recommendations to the Cabinet in respect of the vesting of the Ehelepola Walawwa with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, in terms of a Cabinet decision made at the Cabinet meeting held on 2024-02-19. Accordingly, through the Report submitted, a project with related to Ehelepola Walawwa has been set up by the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic to establish a Wax Sculpture Museum in this building reflecting the glory and the environmental background of the Kandyan Kingdom that existed hundreds of years ago, leading the Ehelepola Family and with the aim of presenting the information on that history to the modern society in a more attractive manner and creating local and foreign tourist attraction thereby. Therefore, it has been recommended that it would be appropriate to vest the respective Building with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President to vest the Ehelepola Walawwa and the land belonging to the same with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic by a Temporality Deed, was approved by the Cabinet.
