Project for the establishment 70 MW, AC ground mounted solar PV power plants in 1 to 5 MW, AC capacity

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2023‑10‑02 has granted approval to award the relevant contracts for the supply of 51MW to establish Solar PV Power Plants at 5 Grid Substations on Build, Own and Operate basis with 20 years operational period under the Project for establishment of 70MW, AC ground mounted Solar PV Power Plants in 1-5 MW AC capacity at 11 Grid Substations. Proposals have been re-invited for the supply of 19 MW for the remaining 06 Grid Substations. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy to award the contracts for the establishment of Solar PV Power Plants at Ampara, Habarana, Kosgama, Kurunegala, Pannala and Weyangoda Grid Substations, to the relevant investors, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee taking into consideration the proposals submitted, was approved by the Cabinet.
