Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill (Issue and Service of summons)

- Approval has been granted at the Cabinet meetings held on 2021‑10‑11 and 2023‑07‑31 to amend the Civil Procedure Code incorporating necessary provisions to improve the procedure for issuance and service of summons in relation to a civil proceeding by including the mode of service of summons via courier service and electronic mail as ordinary services and also another several amendments to suit with the present day needs. The clearance of the Attorney General has been received to the Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman accordingly. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to publish the said Bill in the Government Gazette and submit the same thereafter, to Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
