Establishment of ground mounted/floating solar PV power plants on Build, Own and Operate basis

- International competitive bids have been invited for the supply of electricity from PV solar power plants for the grid substations of Matara (10 MW) and Vavunathiv (08 MW). Accordingly, based on the project proposals received, the proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy to award the contract for the establishment of ground mounted solar PV power plant in the Matara grid substation to Mahawa Solar (Pvt)Ltd and Hayleys Power (Pvt.) Ltd and the contract for the establishment in the Vavunathiv grid substation to Capital City Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., on Build, Own and Operate basis, as per the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
