Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2024-02-26 (Subject to Confirmation at the next Meeting)

Signing the Work Plan for the year 2024-2026 under the Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Vietnam for Cooperation in the field of Agriculture

- A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Sri Lanka and Vietnam on 2006‑11‑27 for cooperation in the field of agriculture. In terms of the provisions of the said Memorandum of Understanding, Work Plans for the years 2010-2011, 2017-2019 and 2022-2024 have been implemented to develop the agriculture sector and promote cooperation based on the agreement of both parties and a new Work Plan has been prepared for the period of 2024-2026. This Work Plan is to be implemented by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries to sign the said Work Plan between the two parties, was approved by the Cabinet.
