Obtaining approval of the Cabinet of Ministers for the Ayurveda Code

- Regulations have to be made prescribing an Ayurveda Code as per section 77 of the Ayurveda Act No. 31 of 1961 as amended by the Ayurveda (Amendment) Act No. 19 of 2023. Accordingly, the Ayurveda Code has been drafted subject to the provisions of the Act for the advancement of the indigenous medical sector to meet the sustainable development goals and timely requirements while achieving the objectives of the Act. The Legal Draftsman having examined the said draft has confirmed that the matters contained therein are accurate except the technical contents. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to declare the draft Ayurveda Code, was approved by the Cabinet.
