Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2024-02-19 (Subject to Confirmation at the next Meeting)

Procurement for supplying uniforms for Police Inspectors and Junior Grade Officers and supplying shoes for Police Sergeant / Police Constables of the Sri Lanka Police

- It has been estimated that 732,000 meters of fabric are required for issuing uniforms for officers in Police Inspector Grades and those in Junior Grades whereas 70,000 pairs of leather shoes are required to provide the Police Sergeants / Police Constables of the Sri Lanka Police, for the year 2024. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Public Security to procure the said stock of fabric and the stock of shoes by following the National Competitive Bidding Procedure, utilizing the provisions allocated for the Sri Lanka Police for the year 2024, was approved by the Cabinet.
