Issuance of driving licenses for light vehicles for persons with total hearing impairment

- The Cabinet has granted its approval on 2022‑11‑14 to implement a pilot project centered on Gampaha district to provide driving license for light vehicles for people with total hearing impairment. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal made by the Minister of Transport and Highways to take necessary action to issue driving license for light vehicles to the persons with total hearing impairment on bi-annual renewal basis so as to cover the entire Island, based on the outcome of the said pilot project and the recommendations of the Committee appointed under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Highways pertaining to the implementation of this project.
