Rehabilitation of 100,000 km of Alternative Roads, Bypasses and Rural Roads

- It has been planned to improve 1,500 km of roads out of roads where the constructions have been initiated under the 100,000 km programme and suspended at present, in the year 2024, to maintain the safety and transport compatibility. Rs. 20 billion has been estimated as the total cost for that purpose and it is scheduled to be completed the works within six (06) months in the year 2024. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Transport and Highways to implement the programme to make the selected roads suitable for transportation, within the period of first six months in the year, was approved by the Cabinet.
