Obtaining the Technical Assistance from the Government of Federal Republic of Germany for the “Vocational Training in Sri Lanka Phase II Project”

- The Federal Republic of Germany has agreed to provide a grant of Euro 7 million during the period of 2023 - 2026 for the implementation of the "Vocational Training in Sri lanka Phase II Project" with a view to further developing the technical, vocational education and training sector in Sri Lanka. the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmBH functions as the implementing agency for the said project on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. An Agreement is scheduled to be signed between the GIZ Institute and the Ministry of Education for the implementation of the proposed Project and the observations of the Department of External Resources and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the the clearance of the Attorney General have been obtained for the draft Agreement. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the proposed Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
