Project for the establishment of 60 Smart Classrooms for Advanced Level Students in the selected Plantation Schools in the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Badulla Districts

- The Government of India has agreed to provide funds for implementation of a pilot project to establish 60 Smart Classrooms for Advanced Level students in the selected Plantation Schools in the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Badulla Districts within a period of two years. The recommendation of the Department of National Planning has been received for the implementation of the said pilot project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.526.20 million and a provision of Rs.310 million has been allocated for the year 2024. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development to enter into an Agreement between the High Commission of India and the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development for the implementation of the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
