Extension of the periods of the Governance for Growth Programme and the Market Development Facility Programme, implemented under the Grant Assistance of the Government of Australia

- An Agreement has been reached in 2017 between the Government of Australia and the Government of Sri Lanka to implement the Governance for Growth Programme and the Market Development Facility Programme. The Government of Australia has agreed to provide an additional grant of 42.1 million Australian Dollars for the said two programs. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Development to enter into Subsidiary Arrangements with the Government of Australia to obtain that grant and continue the said two projects, was approved by the Cabinet.
