Implementation of the National Evaluation Policy in the Public Sector from 2024

- The Department of Project Management and Monitoring of the General Treasury has already initiated the foundation measures required for the implementation of the National Evaluation Policy in the Public Sector from 2024. It has been recognized that it is appropriate to create an institutional structure within the existing institutional set-up without establishing a new institution in order to implement the said Evaluation Policy. Further, the need of establishing a permanent National Evaluation Steering Committee has been recognized, enabling to submit the recommendations of the evaluations made, to the Cabinet annually and submit the same thereafter to Parliament as appropriate and to reach independent decisions at various occasions during the evaluation process. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to take necessary action to appoint a National Evaluation Steering Committee under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies and to submit information on matters revealed in evaluation process of the said Committee and its recommendations to the Cabinet, was approved by the Cabinet.
