Signing of Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Agreement of Headquarters

- The Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) has been established as a Convention which operates respecting the value system of member countries while confronting the common security threats and challenges to Member States including maritime security in the region of Indian ocean. Currently, this Conclave operates as a regional organization wherein India, Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka function as Member States while Bangladesh and Seychelles function as observer countries. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to sign a Charter to further streamline the activities of the said Conclave, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding among the member countries relating to the Secretariat of the of the said organization to be established in the Colombo city and to sign a Headquarters Agreement pertaining to the activities of the Secretariat between Sri Lanka and the General of the Secretariat, was approved by the Cabinet.
