Reconstruction of Pedestrian Bridges across the Marine Drive Road near the Bambalapitiya and Wellawatta Railway Stations

- Taking into consideration the risky situation of the pedestrian bridges built across the Marine Drive Road to access the Bambalapitiya and Wellawatta Railway Stations, it has been found the necessity of constructing temporary staircases and immediate reconstruction of pedestrian bridges. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Transport & Highways to award the contract for the reconstruction of the said bridges which is an urgent and essential construction, to the State Development and Construction Company, subject to the condition of completing the said contract within a period of six (06) months, was approved by the Cabinet.
