Conducting a Series of Programmes for the full integration of Upcountry Tamils into the Sri Lankan Society

- The Government has planned to implement a national programme to mark 200 years for the Sri Lankan Plantation Community and several other programmes in the future for the betterment of the said community. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President to appoint a Cabinet Sub‑Committee chaired by the Hon. Prime Minister to provide necessary guidance and monitor the effective and efficient implementation of the relevant programmes in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development and other relevant Government and Non‑Government Institutions, enabling to develop educational and health facilities, create economic and vocational opportunities and provide a high living standard with permanent residence, towards the betterment of plantation community who are Sri Lankan citizens, was approved by the Cabinet.
