Amending the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act No.27 of 2005

- The necessity of amending the certain provisions in the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act No.27 of 2005 has been identified taking into consideration the need of making adequate legal provisions to take legal action against offenses committed by passengers and other parties depriving of revenue to be received by the Sri Lanka Transport Board and new reforms and trends which have taken place in the passenger transport service after introducing the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act, No.27 of 2005. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Transport and Highways to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare a Bill to amend the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act, No.27 of 2005, was approved by the Cabinet.
