National Hydrographic Bill

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2023-05-08 has granted approval to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare a Bill to impose required provisions to develop a Maritime Hydrographic Unit with the objective of improving Sri Lanka as the Marine Center of South Asia region. The Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman accordingly has received the clearance of the Attorney General. The Joint proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to publish the said Bill in the Government Gazette and thereafter, submit it to Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
