Providing Housing Units under the Urban Regeneration Project to the families occupying in the settlement with less facilities in the land called Hathbodhiyawatta, Narahenpita and developing the said land

- There is a low-income settlement on a land block of Government-owned land called Hathbodhiyawatta located in the Kirula Grama Niladhari Division, Narahenpita in extent of 01 Acres 03 Roods and 10 Perches and those housing units are often subject to disasters during the rainy seasons. It has been proposed to provide the families occupying in the said settlement, with the alternative housing units from the housing schemes constructed by the Urban Development Authority under the Urban Regeneration Project. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to provide housing units from the housing schemes constructed in the Colombo city under the Urban Regeneration Project, to the occupants of the said land and thereafter to transfer the said land to the Urban Development Authority under section 6(1) of the State Land Ordinance to implement a mixed development project, was approved by the Cabinet.
