Establishment of a New Commercial High Court

- Necessary action needs to be taken to maintain more conducive investment atmosphere in the country in achieving the development targets. Considering the situation, the necessity of establishing a new Commercial High Court has been identified in order to ensure the expeditious resolution of the current high volume of cases pending with regard to commercial matters. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to establish the relevant Commercial High Court at No. 80, Adhikarana Mawatha, Colombo 12, was approved by the Cabinet.
