Granting State owned lands for a Solar Power Project of 100 MW, on lease basis

- The proposal to take over a land in extent of 219.72 hectares located in the Siyambalanduwa Divisional Secretariat Division of the Monaragala District to the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority for a 100 MW solar power project was taken up for discussion at the Cabinet meeting held on 2023‑08‑07, and a decision was taken to discuss with the Ministry of Tourism and Lands in that regard and submit information related thereto, to the Cabinet. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy to lease out the relevant extent of land to the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority for a period of 25 years, along with the provisions enabling to sub‑lease the said land to the selected renewable energy developer, as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Tourism and Lands.
