28th Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai, UAE

- The 28th Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) is scheduled to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 2023.11.30 to 2023.12.12. In that Conference, Sri Lanka, together with most vulnerable countries due to climate change, expects to present a proposal to create platform named as "Climate Justice Forum" that will lead developing countries to have a common voice regarding their concerns and unlock the pledges and commitments of developed countries. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Environment to maintain a Country Pavilion during the conference for the active participation of the delegations participating in the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention and showcase the national level initiatives related to climate change in the pavilion, was approved by the Cabinet.
