Submission of an Order published in terms of the provisions of the Sri Lanka Export Development Act, No.40 of 1979, for approval in Parliament

- According to the existing duty structure, the duty levied on the importation of certain raw materials used by local printing ink manufacturers for ink manufacturing is higher than the printing ink imported as finished products thereby causing a disadvantageous situation to local printing ink manufacturers. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion to present the Order published in the Government Gazette dated 2023‑07‑21 in terms of the provisions of the Sri Lanka Export Development Act, No.40 of 1979 in order to rectify the same, in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
