Granting a plot of land located at D.M. Colombage Mawatha, Kirulapone to the Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Social Welfare Foundation

- A request has been made by the Mahanayaka Thero of Kandy Asgiri Maha Viharaya to provide a plot of land suitable for construction of a designated monastery in order to provide accommodation facilities to monks visiting from distant regions for the national and religious events held in Colombo and its suburbs and for other requirements as well. A block of land in extent of 27 perches owned by the Urban Development Authority located at D.M. Colombage Mawatha, Kirulapana has been identified for that purpose and the proposal made by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to vest the said block of land with the Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Social Welfare Foundation through a free grant, for the construction of a monastery, was approved by the Cabinet.
