Import of eggs required for providing to consumers at a reasonable price

- The Cabinet approval has been previously granted to import eggs and release them to the domestic market through the State Trading (General) Corporation with a view to stabilizing the price of eggs in the domestic market. Accordingly, bids have been invited from 03 companies in India recommended by the Department of Animal Production and Health. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to procure a quantity of 92.1 million of eggs through the State Trading (General) Corporation for a period of 03 months based on the said prices and taking into consideration the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
