Sri Lanka's hosting of the 23rd Council of Ministers meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association

- The Indian Ocean Rim Association was initiated in 1995 and consists of 23member countries at present. It has been planned to conduct the 25th Committee of Senior Officials Meeting of this Association on 2023‑10‑09 and 2023‑10‑10, and the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Ministers on 2023‑10‑11 in Colombo. Sri Lanka will assume the Chair of the Indian Ocean Rim Association from 2023 to 2025 at the upcoming Council of Ministers meeting and during the said period the theme was selected as ''Strengthening the Regional base: Empowering the identity of Indian Ocean''.The above information presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs was considered by the Cabinet.
