Vesting of the Public Pilgrimage Hall constructed under the Kataragama Pooja Bhoomi Planning Scheme with the Kiri Vehera Raja Maha Viharaya

- Public Pilgrimage Hall constructed under the Kataragama Pooja Bhoomi Planning Scheme has been vested with the Kiri Vehera Raja Maha Viharaya for a period of 05 years for maintenance and continuance and it returned to the National Physical Planning Department after the expiry of the said time period. The Chief Incumbent Thero of the Kataragama Raja Maha Viharaya has made a request to vest the said Pilgrimage Hall again with the Kiri Vehera Raja Maha Viharaya. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to vest the said Pilgrimage Hall with the Kataragama Raja Maha Viharaya for a period 05 years upon a Memorandum of Understanding, subject to carrying out the maintenance, renovations and settlement of bills relating to contractual services of the building by the said Viharaya, was approved by the Cabinet.
