Amendments to the Civil Procedure Code (Chapter 101) (Pre-Trial Conference)

- The approval of the Cabinet has been granted on 2021‑09‑27 to amend the Civil Procedure Code, enabling to make remedies for the issues and challenges that have arisen after implementing new provisions on pre-trial proceedings which were introduced by the Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Act, No.8 of 2017 and to expedite legal proceedings and reduce the time consumed in adjudication. Accordingly, relevant Bill has been prepared by the Legal Draftsman. The clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the said Bill. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms, to publish the said Bill in the Government Gazette and present the same in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
