Extending the Concession on Embarkation Levy for Jaffna International Airport

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at the Meeting held on 2022‑12‑19 to charge only 50% of the embarkation levy to be paid by the International aviation companies at the Jaffna International Airport, for a period of 06 months, in order to promote the use of Jaffna International Airport. The said concessionary period has been expired by at 2023‑07‑11. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation to extend the period of charging only 50% of the embarkation levy, by another 06 months so that the price of air tickets can be determined at an affordable price for the passengers using that airport, was approved by the Cabinet .
