Provision of Welfare Benefit Payments for Elderly Beneficiaries, Chronic Kidney Patients with unknown etiology (CKDu) and Differently-Abled Persons

- Lists with about two million names identified for the implementation of the Aswesuma Welfare Benefit Payment Scheme have now been published at the Divisional Secretariat and Grama Niladhari Divisional levels for submitting appeals and objections. Accordingly, Cabinet approved the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies for making welfare benefit payments for the 3 social groups of Elderly Beneficiaries, Chronic Kidney Patients with unknown etiology (CKDu) and Differently-Abled Persons, stated in the Gazette Notification which has already been published, until such persons who have applied for obtaining welfare benefits are determined based on the most appropriate criteria and guidelines for obtaining such benefits under the said Programme.
