Extension of the Contract between the Ceylon Shipping Corporation and M/s. Shreeji Shipping, India on lightering (barging) for discharging of coal from the mother ships to the jetty of the Lakvijaya Power Station for the seasons 2023/24 and 2024/25

- The contract for the use of lightering (barging) for discharging coal from ships anchored at the port of Puttalam to the jetty of Lakvijaya Power Station during the years of 2021/22 and 2022/23 had been awarded to M/s. Shreeji Shipping, India. The proposal made by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation to extend the Agreement on lightering (barging) between M/s. Shreeji Shipping, India and the Ceylon Shipping Corporation by further period of one year, enabling the carrying out of discharging of coal without any hindrance from the Month of September in this year, was approved by the Cabinet.
