Deprivation of religious freedom and distortion of religious facts

- There has arisen the need to introduce legal provisions to protect religious freedom and prevent defamation of religious teachings. Accordingly, taking into consideration a proposal made by the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, approval was granted by the Cabinet to appoint a committee representing religious leaders of major religions of Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Catholic and Christian, legal experts, media and civil society activists.
