Amendment to the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act, No.34 of 2005

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at the meeting held on 2018‑03‑06 to draft a Bill to amend the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act, No.34 of 2005. Clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (Amendment) Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman as per the said approval. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President, in his capacity as the Minster of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment to publish the said Bill in the Government Gazette and thereafter, present the same in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
