Promotion of the Tourism Industry for Economic Revival

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2022‑08‑30 has decided to appoint a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Civil Aviation and with the participation of another six (06) Ministers to identify the existing impediments and opportunities for the promotion of tourism industry for economic revival and submit recommendations to the Cabinet on action be taken to make use of the prevailing opportunities most effectively by removing the said impediments. Accordingly, the Minister of Tourism and Lands brought the Report containing 25 recommendations submitted by the said Cabinet Sub-Committee, to the attention of the Cabinet and the Cabinet granted its concurrence for the implementation of the said recommendations.
