International Conference on Qualifications Framework and the Recognition of Qualifications and Credentials in Higher Education

- With the increasing internationalization of opportunities for higher education, it has to be entered into Agreements and Conventions which facilitate to mutually recognize the qualifications and credentials awarded according to each country's qualifications framework. Accordingly, the University of Ruhuna and Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Education have initiated several activities through “Regional Cooperation in the field of Recognition among Asian Countries (RecoAsia)” co-funded by the European Union under its “Erasmus+” Programme. Further, Sri Lanka has also engaged with the SARRC qualifications Framework Project under the guidance of the International Labour Organization. Under this backdrop, the Ministry of Education has planned to conduct an International Conference on Qualifications Frameworks and the Recognition of Qualifications and Credentials in Higher Education during the two days of 28th and 29th June 2023 with the financial assistance of the RecoAsia and the International Labour Organization. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to conduct the said Conference, was approved by the Cabinet.
