Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2023-05-22

Amendment of the Ayurveda Act

- The approval has been granted at the Cabinet meeting held on 2022‑10‑31 for the amendment of the Ayurveda Act, No.31 of 1961, in order to achieve the sustainable development goals and meet the current needs. The Attorney General's clearance has been received for the draft Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman accordingly. The proposal made by the Minister of Health to publish the said draft Bill in the Government Gazette and present the same in Parliament thereafter, was approved by the Cabinet.
