Importation of Urea Fertilizer for paddy cultivation in the Yala Season 2023

- It has been identified that 25,000 MT of Urea fertilizer should be further imported for the Yala Season 2023 when taking into consideration the available quantity of fertilizer with the two Government fertilizer companies and the private sector and those remaining in the Agrarian Services Centres. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture to import the said quantity of fertilizer as 60% by the Ceylon Fertilizer Company and 40% by Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company Ltd., was approved by the Cabinet.
