Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2023-05-08

Establishment of the National University of Nursing, Sri Lanka

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2023‑03‑01 has decided to appoint an Officials' Committee to examine the proposal submitted pertaining to converting the Colleges of Nursing currently administered under the Ministry of Health to a University and submit a Report to the Cabinet. Taking into consideration the recommendations submitted by the said Officials' Committee, the Joint proposal made by the Minister of Transport and Highways in his capacity as the acting Minister of Education, and the Minister of Health to grant approval in principal to establish the National University of Nursing, Sri Lanka and prepare a Bill for the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
