Maintenance of adequate Tug Fleet in all Ports under the Sri Lanka Ports Authority

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2022‑06‑13 has granted approval to obtain Time Charter 04 Tugs of more than 70 T capacity for a period of 05 years following Competitive Bidding Procedure. Accordingly, International Competitive Bids have been invited to obtain Tug vessels and two bids have been received. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation to award the procurement for hiring 04 tugs for a period of 05 years to the lowest evaluated substantially responsive bidder, M/s Sri Lanka Shipping Company Limited, as per the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
