Preparation of a new National Education Policy Framework

- The Government has identified the education sector as a key sector that requires expeditious reforms during the process of achieving economic stability in the country. Accordingly a new National Education Policy Framework has to be formulated and implemented, in collaboration with all relevant parties. As such, the proposal made by the the Hon. President to appoint a Cabinet Sub‑Committee comprising of 10 members presided over by the President and participated by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education in order to provide instructions and required guidance to present the National Education Policy Framework for the next 25 years and all relevant reform proposals in Parliament, and implement the same on priority basis, was approved by the Cabinet.
