Implementation of Dehiwala Smart Metering Project of Ceylon Electricity Board

- Initiatives have been taken to implement a Smart Metering System targeting a customer base of 50,000 initially in Dehiwala area and its' estimated cost is LKR1,000 million. Bids have been invited under the international competitive bidding procedure for the design, supply, install, testing and commissioning of its' infrastructure and 5 bids have been received. The proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy to award the respective procurement to M/s Yantai Dongfang Wisdom Electric Co. Ltd in China, the substantially responsive bidder as per the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Approved Procurement Committee at the total amount of LKR 937.91 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
