Procurement of surgical gauze from local suppliers required for the Medical Supply Division for the year 2023

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2012‑12‑05 has granted approval to purchase the essential quantity of surgical gauze for clinical and surgical activities of Government hospitals under a regular quota scheme. Accordingly, the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee has selected 348 surgical gauze suppliers out of 405 suppliers who have registered in the Medical Supply Division, to purchase 30 million meters of gauze required for the year 2023. The Pricing Committee has approved the fixed price of a meter of surgical gauze as LKR 74.96. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to award the procurement for the purchase of 30 million meters of gauze for the year 2023 to the selected 348 suppliers, was approved by the Cabinet.
