Procurement of 75 Ambulances under the Health System Enhancement Project

- Health System Enhancement Project is being implemented with funds of US$ 123 million provided by the Asian Development Bank, the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction and the Counterpart Funds of the Government of Sri Lanka. Under that project, funds have been allocated to purchase 50 ambulances from the funds of the Asian Development Bank and 25 ambulances from the grants of the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction. Out of that stock, it has been planned to provide 30 ambulances to the Ministry of Health and the remaining 45 ambulances to the Suwaseriya Foundation. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to expedite the said procurement process and purchase the ambulances, was approved by the Cabinet.
